eric_creativeAs a musician, Galway man Eric Cunningham has performed in a plethora of concert halls across six continents from Beijing Opera House to the Lincoln & Kennedy Center’s in North America while he has also played support to the ‘Rolling Stones’ and performed for 3 US Presidents amongst many other dignitaries and royalty. He has performed as a soloist with numerous international orchestras and with most of Ireland’s foremost traditional Irish musicians in addition to a number of internationally recognised artists including Ronnie Wood. Up until December 2012 he managed and performed with the world’s greatest & fastest (Guinness World Records) Irish fiddle player Frankie Gavin and his band ‘De Dannan’ but decided to concentrate exclusively on his own productions from January 2013.

As an event producer-promoter, Eric has promoted many events including international rock star Bryan Adams at Pearse Stadium (Galway) to 18,000 people. Cunningham was also the Founder and former Festival Director of ‘The World Fleadh’ which was, during his reign, the biggest Irish traditional & celtic music festival in Ireland. He sold the rights to the event in 2010.

He holds a degree and first class honors Masters in Music from the National University of Ireland (Cork) and was also awarded the Seán O Riada Memorial Award by the same institution for his knowledge of Irish music.

Eric is also the Producer & Director of ‘Women of Ireland’, a touring production comprising some of Ireland’s finest female performers. The show continues to perform internationally.

Eric has been acclaimed as a Composer and Producer and his work has been described by the Irish Times as ‘Terrific’ and ‘Stunning’ by the Irish Independent and ‘Music to marvel at’ by the Irish Examiner.

Eric was nominated for a Mayoral Award from Galway City Council, awarded the National Outstanding Young Person of the Year Award by the Chamber of Commerce Ireland and also presented with a Rehab People of the Year Award.
